(Extra) BtReannouncer

BtReannouncer is a free online tool which increases the number of trackers in a torrent, thus increasing the number of seeders and making downloads faster. For this to work, it is necessary that you have the torrent file saved in your computer.

Steps-

1. Download the torrent file (make sure you save the torrent file!!)

2. Go to btreannouncer.net/btReannounce.php

3. Click ''upload button and find your saved torrent file

4. After it has done working check the 'select all' box and click 'ReAnnounce'

5. Wait for the blue bar to come up 

6. When it comes up go the the right and click 'flat'

7. Open file in your torrent client. Now you have more trackers and therefore more seeders!!! 

RSS Feeds

You might have seen the term 'RSS Feed' somewhere or the other. RSS if you still don’t know is a way to keep track of when a site has been updated with new content. Whenever a new torrent is added, the torrent sites update and thus the new torrent would appear in the RSS feed column in Bittorrent or utorrent. We can use these RSS feeds to view/download interesting torrents automatically or manually.

Follow these steps to setup µTorrent the way you want:

1. Grab the feed url and open µTorrent
2. Click on Add RSS feed and paste the put in the feed URL. You can choose to automatically download all the torrents that appear in the feed or just view them and then decide which ones to download and which ones to skip.

3. Make sure you have the sidebar visible else you will not be able to view the feeds.
4. There you have µTorrent setup for downloading via RSS, you can stop here or you can take it one step further by adding filters to download only specific files that specify a set criteria.
5. Right Click on the feed and choose RSS Downloader, Click on add and then specify the filter options. You can specify all kinds of options here including download folder, labels, specify episode numbers to download, the priority to start the download with, the acceptable filetypes and much more.

6. You can also right click on a feed entry that and choose “Add to Favorites” so that you can then filter entries similar to it and tweak the settings if you would like a bit of finetuning.

You can either put in feeds of a particular category (thepiratebay.se/rss gives you feeds of every category) or by a specific search result (sites like miniova support this option).

Using Miniova-

Let’s say you are looking for releases by aXXo, so you search for aXXo and then click on the RSS button that appears on the top and there you have your RSS feed.

(Extra) Integrating Chameleon Shutdown with Bittorrent or utorrent

This post will tell how to integrate chameleon shutdown with Bittorrent or utorrent.

• Download Chameleon Shutdown from www.chameleon-managers.com (it's at the end of the page).
• In Bittorrent/utorrent, go to Options>Auto Shutdown>Quit when download completes.
• Run Chameleon Shutdown and click on Shutdown> With Parameters... .
• Click on Closure of a program> Bittorrent/utorrent.exe and then 'Start'.
• From the taskbar, click on 'Chameleon Manager' icon (blue icon with shutdown sign) and when window opens, leave it.

That's it. Now when the download will get over, Bittorrent will close, and chameleon shutdown will shut down the computer. If you are having any problem, please write in comments.

(Extra) Getting Torrentz.in into Bittorrent or utorrent clients

This Post will tell you how to bring Torrentz search engine into Bittorrent or utorrent clients. If you click on the 'utorrent plugin' option on the Torrentz home page, then it will bring Torrentz.eu into your client which is (slightly) dangerous . The steps are-

1. Copy This : http://torrentz.in/search?f=
2. Open Bittorrent/utorrent.
3. Click on the drop-down menu which comes after the search button.
4. Click 'Manage Search Providers...'.
5. In the 'search engines' box-

• Type the name you want to give to torrentz.in and 
• Paste the text I gave you to copy right after the name.

     6. Copy the Vertical Line : |

     7. Paste it between the name and http:// WITHOUT LEAVING ANY SPACE

     8. Click 'Ok'.

     9. Now select Torrentz in the search box (it is in the drop-down arrow menu between the search box).

   10. Search Something.

If it came, then you have successfully brought Torrentz into your clients. If it didn't come or there is a problem, post in the comments.

NOTICE 3: About the trackers

If some of the trackers I gave you with http:// prefix don't work, try replacing the http:// with udp://.

Basic Torrent Terms

Hello users, welcome to my last post. As I told you, it tells about some basic torrent terms.

• Seeds:Seeds or seeders are the people who are uploading the file and no longer downloading it
• Trackers:A Bit Torrent tracker is a server that assists in the communication between peers using the  Bit torrent Protocol.     
• Leechers: These are those people who have not finished downloading the torrent you are downloading.      
• Peers: Seeds and Leechers, both are called peers.    

This tells you about all the torrent terms.

This completes all the information required to access a wonderful utility called "Torrent".

This marks the beginning of the Notices, extra information and Activation Keys

Seeds and trackers

Hello users, this is my second last post. The last post will make you familiar with the basic torrent terms. After that you will fully learn how to use torrent. Here I am going to tell you how to make a torrent downloadable (web seed it). Just see the video. Or here are the steps-

      1. Go to 000webhost.com (it is ranked safe by McAfee SiteAdvisor)

      2. Click 'Sign Up'

• If you are taken to 0fees, LEAVE THE WEBPAGE. Check the URL. It should be 000webhost.com/order.php.

     3. Type in the details (don't type the same details as the video)

     4. Click 'Sign Up'.

     5. You will be taken to a page which says -Account Verification in Progress, check again within   24 hours. 

     6. After 24 hours, open your account. If it still says 'Account Verification in Progress', submit a ticket by clicking on the 'Get Help' tab on the top of the page. If it says 'Email Confirmatin in Progress' or something like that, check your email. If you have not got the confirmation email, click on 'Resend Email' under 'Action' Tab.

    7, After your account gets active, click on 'Go to CPanel' under 'Action' Tab. Scroll down till you see 'View FTP Details' (It is under 'Files' heading).

    8. Copy the 'FTP host name'.

    9. Open 'My Computer'.

    10. In the address bar of My Computer, type 'ftp://testoo.freeiz.com' if your FTP host name is testoo.freeiz.com   .

    11. It will ask for 'Username' and 'Password'.

•  Copy the 'FTP user name' and paste it in the Username column.

•  Password is your 000webhost account password.

    13. Copy the file of which you want to create the torrent into the 'public_html' folder (or the folder which is given in the "Folder to upload files" column).

    14. Open your bittorrent client.

    15. In the web seeds column, type 'http://testoo.freeiz.com/Call of Duty.rar' if 

•  FTP host name is testoo.freeiz.com and

• The file's full name is Call of Duty with .rar extension (it is an archive) .

    16. Click on 'Create and save as'.

    17. Open your torrent.  

• Download it in a different location.

    18. Does the file download? If yes, you can now create a torrent. If not, watch the video. The URL for the video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0CRP0bZmjc.

Creating New Torrent

Hello everyone, you have till now only downloaded torrents. Today I am going to tell how to create a basic torrent using bittorrent or utorrent. Steps to create a torrent are-

     1. Go to 'File' menu of your torrent client (works in most clients).
    
     2. Click on 'Create New Torrent'.

     3. In 'Select Source', specify the location of the file for which you are creating a torrent.

     4. Leave 'Trackers' It will be discussed in the next post.

     5. Leave 'Web Seeds' for now. I will discuss them too in a separate post.

     6. Put any 'Comment' if you want to.

     7. Leave the 'Piece Size' to 'auto detect'.

     8. Tick 'Private Torrent' checkbox if you don't want it public.

     9. Click 'Create and save as'

     10. Specify the location.

     11. Click on 'Save' in the dialog box.

That's it. Now you have created a basic UNDOWNLOADABLE torrent (undownloadable means that till any seed is attached it cannot be downloaded). To make it downloadable (without any manual seeding), you need web seeds which I will discuss in the next post.

Increase download speed

After some research, I found that Cheat Engine only increases the download speed visually. That is, it only increases the speed you see in the torrent client, but in reality the speed is the same as before. Here are two softwares which increase your torrent download speed IN REALITY.

 

    1. Bittorrent Turbo Accelerator

This software from webspeeders is the version for bittorrent client. It is extremely useful and easy to use. The only thing you have to set is your network interface. It can be downloaded as the Lite version for speeding up 7 downloads, or can be bought from webspeeders.

 

 

    2.  µtorrent Turbo Accelerator

This software also from webspeeders is the µtorrent version. Like its brother, it is also extremely useful and easy to use. The layout is almost same as bittorrent turbo accelerator. It can be downloaded as lite version from webspeeders or can be bought from the same.

Top 5 apps for Bittorrent or utorrent

Do you know that Bittorrent or utorrent have downloadable apps that can make your torrent downloads much easier? Here is a description of all of them with instructions at the top.

Instructions

Before clicking on “Install” you can choose to view the description of the app by clicking on the app icon. This will open a new window with the description of the app.

Instead of having your computer’s antivirus scan each and every file, you can simply use Virus Guard (powered by bitdefender) to scan the individual torrent file downloaded. Virus Guard even allows you to scan within ZIP, RAR and TAR archives.

When you first run Virus Guard it will update its virus definitions file. After the definitions have been updated all the torrents you are downloading will immediately be scanned. In the future you can choose to scan all your torrents or simply scan an individual torrent by selecting it and clicking on the Virus Guard icon in the main toolbar.

I would also recommend you select “Start Virus Guard when μTorrent starts“, since download torrents can be dangerous as they may be laden with malware.

VLC is the standard media program that every computer user must have. It is no different on μTorrent, where we recommend you install the VLC app to view your downloaded media.

The app displays all your downloaded audio and video files in a simple list. You can launch and play any of the files by simply clicking on them and hitting “Play“.

It's been a while using Torrentz, and, well, getting viruses. After looking around for a while I have got a result: Torrentz, that is, which will help you a lot if you are using SiteAdvisor. You must be thinking "First he says it is not safe, and then he says it is safe? What nonsense!" But this Torrentz is Indian and is a lot more safer.

Torrentz (torrentz.eu) is a website which is linked with 30 torrent websites. As a result, a large number of torrent files are available there. You can download the required files from there.

NOTE- Torrentz is linked with 30 websites. Some of these contain viruses. I recommend going to www.siteadvisor.com  or using McAfee Siteadvisor and checking which website is safe. And DON'T click on direct download to download your file. Download it from one of the torrent sources.

A search engine is also located in your Bittorrent/utorrent software at the upper-right side. To bring Torrentz into that search engine-

1. Go to torrentz.eu.
2. On the home page, click on 'utorrent Search Plugin'.
3. Download the file and run it to install Torrentz into your client.
4. To search using this, click on the arrow besides the search icon and select Torrentz, then enter your search keywords and press 'Enter'.

I will tell how to bring Torrentz.in (see 'A Safer Plan' for details) in this column in a separate post.

isoHunt is a BitTorrent index with over 1.7 million torrents in its database and 20 million peers from indexed torrents^.With 7.4 million unique visitors as of May 2006, isoHunt is one of the most popular BitTorrent search engines. Thousands of torrents are added to and deleted from it every day. Users of isoHunt perform over 40 million unique searches per month. On October 19, 2008, isoHunt passed the 1 petabyte mark for torrents indexed globally. The site is the third most popular BitTorrent site as of 2008. According to isoHunt, the total amount of shared content was more than 14.11 petabytes as of June 13, 2012.
